its all about temperature, and what washes with what.
whites go with whites – hot wash (keeps them glowing) with a soap POWDER as powder has bleaches in it. which keep them glowing. also use bleach once in a while
colours. – this is a load of mixed colours like lights and greens and yellows and pastels etc use a colour detergent powder or liquid. also wash inside out. wash on warm
darks, well you can buy darks detergent but its a waste of money. use a normal powder or , Liquid is less harsh . wash in warm or cold if you must. wash inside out and dry in shade.
delicates, well delicate cold programme with a delicate detergent.
also using fabric conditioner keeps colours from fading as it creates a film which also keeps dirt and stains from settling.
but using any detergent is ok. just remember to seperate your loads. and do delicates in small batches.
using a dryer will fade clothes much quicker. invest in a clothes horse. doing so will also make ur house smell nice.
I have been using Cheer for dark clothes and I have seen a big difference as far as keeping the colors true! No fading at all.
For regular everyday stuff I use Tide, either with bleach alternative or with out. I like to used Clorox bleach with my towels and other stuff to really clean and sanitize some things as long as they aren’t colored!
I use snuggle fabric softner too. a clean scent. My hubby doesnt like the foofoo smelling ones! lol
I haven’t used them myself, but I’ve heard the Woolite products are very good.
