If A Fashion Company Uses An Artist’s Illustration To Decorate A Dress, How Much Would They Pay Him?
Monday, February 1st, 2010How much would an artist gain if he/she selled an illustration that gets printed on the fabric of a dress?
Any idea?
I know it depends on the brand that buys it too, but let’s pretend that he doesn’t work for this company, they just want to buy “one” of his designs/illustraton, which is to become a decoration for one of their dresses… which makes this a very occasional circumstance… any idea?
Oh the fashion company is even little, not a major one.

In Illustration/graphic Design, Do They Care About What College You Went To?
Saturday, January 30th, 2010Okay so you know how people are really into pedigree when they want to go to college. Many people want to go the Ivy universities. Anyway, I’m a graphic design and illustration major and I would like to go to a state university because its cheaper.
I’m middle class and I don’t want to get loans. I want to get grants, do work study and probably hold down another job outside of college. My parents are in their fifties and are focusing on their retirement, so I can’t really burden them with anymore college.
They covered my community college tuition but that’s all they can do. Once I transfer to a university, its up to me to get financial aid and whatever else I need. I’m worried that I might get passed over for jobs, once I graduate, to people who went to pricier and name-brand universities.
Like what if I want to be a graphic designer/illustrator for a publishing house and do book covers and illustrations for children’s books? Will they just laugh at me and ignore me because I went to a state college?
Business Split Up In To 2 Separate Entities, Should They Still Be Selling The Same Products From One Factory ?
Tuesday, January 19th, 2010Our company recently split up ( around 2 years ago due to division of assets through the will of our grandfather ) and we’re in the business or marketing Auto parts for for cars/trucks. We get some of our products from one factory and we brand it under one name. Company A (bigger company) would want to control the brand since we have developed it but Company B would want to sell it as well.
Would it be possible to form a strategic alliance with COmpany B ?
