I need your review because I was planning on buying a CHI straighter (CHI Limited Edition Breast Cancer Awareness Pink 1″ Flat Iron) but then I started to hear that after a year or two, it starts breaking. What do you think about CHI? Be honest ^^ My hair is between thick and thin, more close to thin but I’m growing it out pretty long like 4 inches past my shoulder if that helps at all… And then personally, if you do have the straighter that I wanted, what do you think about it? What other brands are good too? Please keep it cheap xD And also, I’m looking for a 1″ straightener.

Friday, February 5th, 2010I’m looking to buy a new flat iron and trying to do research before I decide which is the best for me.
I posted a question on here a few hours ago and everyone suggested a CHI… What makes the CHI better than say Solia, Sedu, Hana, T3, FHI or Amika or the many other “professional” straighteners out there? Does a CHI straightner have 100% ceramic plates or are they only coated ceramic? Which is the best for your hair — 100% ceramic or ceramic plates with tourmaline?
I’m not concerned with the cost because I’m looking for the top-of-the line straightener recommended by stylists. I know CHI is the most common brand but is this because it really is the best or just because it’s a reasonable price for a professional flat iron?

Thursday, February 4th, 2010ok so i have medium lenght brown hair that is straight but sort of curls in the bottom.ive never straightened my hair before. my stylist curled it when she layered my hair a month ago, and i loved it! which type of curling iron is a good one that is not to expensive, won’t damge my hair, and is a good, well-known brand??
also 1/2 inch, 1 inch, or 2?? and whats the idfference?

Ok. i have a jilbere de paris definition series flat iron. I’ve had it for a long while now. Maybe 4 or 5 years. I flat iron my hair almost every day, so i cant live without it. So, yesterday it broke. a week ago the on button light went off by itself then came back on, and i though nothing of it, but now it wont even turn on. Its fried completely. im freaking out. i have long full curly ethnic hair and i have to have a flat iron to straighten it. (blow dryers wont work.) My hair is still sortof straight, but curly at ends atm. the straight wont last much longer and i dont have the money to get an expensive new one right now. are there any alternatives, or straightening tips to tie me over till i get a new one? Or any brands that are similar that arent too expensive. thank you.
Which Flat Irons (hair Straighteners) Are 100% Ceramic?
Monday, February 1st, 2010I’ve done a lot of research on different flat iron’s but not many websites site whether their product is made with pure ceramic plates. I know for a fact that FHI Runway and PAUL MITCHELL use 100% ceramic plates but I’d really like to know if there are any other brands I should look into. CHI’s are only ceramic COATED. I’m not interested in them, I’ve used it before and it makes the hair around my face get split ends and I do use hair product for heat defense.
If you have any recommendation for a flat iron with variable temperature, 100% ceramic and at least 2 year warranty, please comment!!

Then I went to Ulta and got a Chi brand one

They are supposed to work the same. Should I keep the Chi or get the other?

Help! Are Vidal Sassoon Flat Irons For Coarse Hair Good?
Friday, January 29th, 2010well i recently broke my last flat iron but it was a cheap piece of crap anyways and i’m looking on buying a Vidal Sassoon flat iron specially made for coarse hair it is purple i think and white and i don’t need a GREAT flat iron just one that wont damage too bad and too keep my little flip from going crazy on my right side and to stop frizz that can occur with coarse hair. my hair is asian hair black and very thick and coarse it just gets a little frizz and flip sometimes. so is this flat iron good for this kind of situation? if not please give me some suggestions of the brand and price this one i found at about $15 at like TJMAXX so if any other suggestions please give me one that is cheap and i don’t need that great of one just to keep the frizz and flip control and that doesnt really damage hair like cheap ones can! thanks!

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010My $20 Wet2Straight is dead, and although I never used it on wet hair, I noticed that it seriously killed my hair and was rough, even on a lower setting.
So I’m going to get a new one tomorrow. I am wanting to get a flat iron from BedHead (Tigi) and although it’s kind of pricy, it’s cheaper than a Chi and my mom said no to getting one of those.
If you’ve ever used a Tigi flat iron, did you like it? What size was it?
Oh and if there is a better brand (one you can get at Target, Walgreens, Wal Mart, etc.) then please tell me, along with the size.
