The British Medical Association has called for a complete ban on alcohol and , from television to the sponsorship of music festivals and football by drinks , as part of a nine-point plan to tackle problems including binge drinking by young people. I think this be taking the nanny state too far. Local government, the police and education authorities should deal the problem of binge drinking and central Government should not get involved other than to raise the tax on all drinks.
