    If it was developed independently, and there was no way you can prove they copied the system, and you didn’t patent it, it’s fine.

    If you didn’t patent it and you didn’t register it then you have no claim. The registered letter idea is a good way to document the time of an idea, however that’s only a part of the patent puzzle.

    Did you try to sell them this product? Otherwise it is just a coincidence, and since you didn’t register or patent it, you have no claim on it.
