Yellow tint in hair is not caused by heat styling. If you are a smoker, that can be the cause. Also, hard water will cause an orange-yellow tint. I have to ask, how often do you use the purple shampoos, and are you using a toning conditioner? Matrix so silver is good, and they also have a conditioner by Biolage that will also help. But you have to use it regularly. Good luck!
What about going to the salon and asking them for a permanent toner put in. Your hair sounds resistant and will need that extra color to neutralize it. Also Goldwell color sold in professional salons has this mousse that you put in that cuts all the yellow out. Try that.

Use purple shampoo. I have really blonde hair that fades yellow sometimes. I use Matrix So Silver! Use it like once or twice a week. Works great!
