It’s because they started putting plastic headlamps on our cars and they suck! I copied and pasted this article from autogeek.net for you. I have seen my son repair his headlamps so I knew there was some way to do it. Good luck.

Headlights don’t get the credit they deserve. They are the eyes of your vehicle. They allow you to see at night and be seen by other motorists. Without them, you’d be blind. That’s why keeping your headlights clean and clear is so important. Clear headlight lenses increase your safety and they improve the overall appearance of your vehicle. Nothing, including expensive specialty cleaners, works any better then Windex. Spray it on and let it soak in. Wipe and repeat a couple of times for built-up dirt/grease. If there is anything sticky on the headlights, try De-Solv-It, a natural, citrus-based cleaner that will remove any sticky substance from any surface. If you have glass covers over the actual headlamps, the dirt may be on the inside, and you would have to take off the covers to clean inside.
