    I agree with ole man; however Le Creuset is quite expensive $200-$300. Try an outlet store in your area you can get nominal discounts on Le Creuset cookware. Also take a look on Amazon.com they have good sales on Cookware quite often.

    excellent heat distrubution and retention
    you will pass it along to your kids
    lodge is made in china if you care[???lead??]and 5.5 quart is biggest,get a 9.5 le crueset

    But where’d you hear that cast iron shouldn’t be used with tomatoes or chilies? This is flat wrong. You might be thinking of unanodized aluminum, which does react with acidic substances, detergents, etc.
    Properly seasoned cast iron cookware does not react with foods, acidic or otherwise. Cast iron has excellent heat distribution and retention properties. And it is non-stick.
    You can get either expensive, enamel-coated cast iron (Le Creuset), or better yet save yourself a ton of money and get inexpensive Lodge cast iron that will outlive you. Use your money for fine ingredients
